Top Government Space Agencies in the World

Six government space agencies -
  1. Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO)
  2. European Space Agency (ESA)
  3. China National Space Administration (CNSA)
  4. Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA)
  5. National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA)
  6. Russian Federal Space Agency (RFSA or Roscosmos)
Have full dispatch capacities; these incorporate the capacity to dispatch and recoup different satellites, send cryogenic rocket motors and work extraterrestrial tests.Only three currently operating government space agencies in the world - RFSA and the CNSA and NASA are capable of human spaceflight.

Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO)

Indian Space Research Organisation is the space agency of government of India. It was established in August 15, 1969. ISRO is the fastest growing space agency in the world. It’s annual budget is $1.4 billion US dollars (2017-18 est.). ISRO was founded by Vikram Sarabhai and it’s headquarters are at Bengaluru.

ISRO launched its first satellite ARYABHATA in 1975 by Soviet Union. ISRO has so far launched 80 spacecrafts since 1975. ISRO currently operates INSAT, GSAT advanced series of communication satellites, earth observation satellites and IRNSS series navigational satellites.

On February 15, 2017, ISRO launched 104 satellites in a single rocket named PSLV-C37 and made a world record. Of these 104 satellites, one is 714 kilogram main satellite for earth observation and 103 smaller “nano satellites” which weigh 664 kilogram combined.

On June 5, 2017, ISRO launched 640 ton GSLV Mk III rocket, carrying GSAT-19 communication satellite.

European Space Agency (ESA)

The European Space Agency is the Inter-Governmental space agency which is dedicated to the space exploration. It was founded in the year 1975. Headquarter of ESA is in Paris,France. ESA launched its first satellite Ariel 1 in 1962.
European Space Agency is controlled by 22 European Nations. But the UK is one of the largest contributors to the European Space Agency. The annual budget of European Space Agency is $5.5 billion US dollars.

Agency’s program includes exploration to another planet, moon, human spaceflight through international space station, science, earth observation, telecommunication, spaceport etc.

China National Space Administration (CNSA)

China National Space Administration is the space agency of China. China National Space Administration owns the second largest fleet of satellites in earths orbit. China is the third nation after USA and Russia to send humans in space. It was established in 1993, headquartered in Beijing. The overall yearly budget of experimentation is $1.3 billion.

China’s major missions are Tiangong-1 space station, Shenzhou manned space flight programme and the Chinese Lunar Exploration Programme (CNEP). China National Space Administration is also aiming to launch its Chinese Space Station in 2020.

Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA)

Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency is the Japan's space agency which explores the space with their advanced tools and machinery. It was founded in 1 October 2003. The headquarters of Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency are located in Chofu.

It’s annual budget is $2.03 billion US dollars. It is responsible for technology development, research works, launch of a satellite into the orbit, asteroid data, moon exploration and many other advanced missions.

Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency is also planning to launch Human Space Program, Super sonic aircraft development and JAXA is also developing the Reusable launch Vehicles.

National Aeronautics And Space Administration (NASA)

National Aeronautics and Space Administration is the united states government agency. It was established in 1958 by Dwight Eisenhower. The headquarters of NASA are located in Washington D.C. World’s most space research and exploration efforts have been held by NASA including Skylab, Space Shuttle and the most popular Apollo moon landing mission.

It’s annual budget is highest among all of the agencies in the World i.e $19.3 billion US dollars.

The Agency basically concentrates on understanding the Earth by Earth watching framework, Exploring assortments of the nearby planetary group, astronomy, for example, the enormous detonation, propelled mechanical autonomy mission, for example, New Horizons. It likewise shares different exploratory data with Greenhouse Gasses Observing Satellite association. NASA is likewise well known due to managing crisis amid essential circumstances and has the potential outcomes and the ability to forestall unsafe results.

Russian Federal Space Agency (RFSA or Roscosmos)

RFSA is the space agency of Russia which is controlled by the government of the Russia. RFSA is responsible for the space science program of Russia and aerospace research. It was founded in February 25, 1992. It is headquartered in Moscow. The annual budget of RFSA is approx $3 billion US dollars.

The third largest fleet of satellites including communication satellites, meteorological satellite and geological satellite. The Current mission on which agency is working on are Fobos (Mars mission), Luna (Moon orbiter) and Venera (Venus lander).
